Along its length, Gosport Road is lined with a mix of residential properties dating from the interwar and post-war periods, interspersed with occasional commercial premises. The Alver Valley Country Park, a large area of open green space managed by Gosport Borough Council, is accessible from roads branching off Gosport Road and provides walks, wildlife habitats, and a cafe. Bay House School, one of the area's secondary schools, has its playing fields in this vicinity. For visitors approaching from the A32 or the Gosport ferry terminal, Gosport Road provides a straightforward route into Lee. Bus services running between Gosport and Lee use this road, with stops at regular intervals. The eastern section of the road passes close to Stokes Bay, which offers its own beach, cafe, and sailing facilities.
