The Old Ship
Pub, Lee-on-the-Solent
The traditional local on the High Street, close to the seafront end of town. The Old Ship has served Lee-on-the-Solent for well over a century and retains a properly unpretentious character. There is a dartboard, a straightforward bar, and the sort of atmosphere where conversations happen easily. The beer garden makes it a good stop after a walk along the promenade. Dogs are welcome inside, which makes it a natural choice for the many dog walkers who use the seafront daily. The pub does not aim for the restaurant trade. It is a drinking pub first, and does that job well. Real ale drinkers will find something worth ordering.
