Marine Parade East covers the eastern section of Lee-on-the-Solent's seafront, running from the Town Centre junction towards the Gosport direction. This stretch has a slightly more formal character than the western seafront, anchored by the Lee-on-the-Solent War Memorial, which stands prominently on the promenade and commemorates local servicemen and women from both World Wars and subsequent conflicts. The memorial is the focal point for Remembrance Sunday services each November and is kept in immaculate condition. The Memorial Gardens adjacent to the war memorial provide a well-maintained green space with benches overlooking the Solent, planted with seasonal flowers and sheltered by hedging. They are a pleasant spot for a quiet sit-down away from the busier central seafront. Several of the larger Victorian and Edwardian properties along this section have been converted into guest houses and holiday apartments, making it a practical base for visitors. The architecture is handsome, with red brick facades, bay windows, and decorative detailing typical of the town's founding period in the 1880s and 1890s. The beach access points along Marine Parade East are well maintained, with steps and ramps leading down to the shingle. The views east towards Gosport and Portsmouth Harbour are particularly good from this section, and on clear days you can see the Spinnaker Tower and the naval dockyard cranes. Walking east along the promenade eventually connects to the Browndown and Stokes Bay coastal paths, making this a natural starting point for longer walks. The eastern seafront is quieter than the central section, appealing to visitors who prefer a calmer atmosphere.
